Sentiments of some FDW on MOM ADVISORY Restdays Arrangements


                                                  

Despite of MOM ( ministry of manpower ) ADVISORY on Restdays arrangements for FDW ( foreign domestic worker ).

    This arrangement is not been occurring to ALL FDW or household according to some helpers , Some are fortunate ones , And  some are Unlucky ones too compare to the others  .
A group of FDW and EMPLOYERS that tackles working condition and disputes online platform is where the advisory for Restdays arrangements was posted last June 02,2020 . 

On the said post there are FDW who voiced out their sentiments on the comment section saying that their Employer still command them to do housework without being compensated , some are unable to rest because they don't have their own privacy or room for them to rest and leave them with no choice but to go out .
Additional to that some are not even allowed to go out to buy stuff for themselves or food, And  yet their Employer allowed them to go NTUC for marketing for house needs .
Different situation and point of views of FDW shown below. 

By right , if an FDW knows they have been abuse or treated unfairly they are advised to seek help  to the  authority , Yet, most of these pity helpers  choose to keep quiet and endure the situation Because the fear of losing their job when they speak up is highly possible. 

We can't stop a violator to violate the law 
But we can refuse to be a victim .


Note from the Writer : 

To FDW 
When you think your abused please seek help 
Or experiencing some disputes , especially rest food and salary issues call MINISTRY OF MANPOWER

When situation is bearable , tolerable , or Choose to endure,  like 
When you're not allowed to go out to buy your stuff and food .
I suggest to buy all your needs The same time when you do the marketing day for households. In this case it lessens the dispute.


To some EMPLOYER  ,
What is atleast 2 or 3 hours in a month or a week ?
Or atleast 30 minutes in a day after housework, for a helper to breath a fresh air  and have peace of mind even just for a little while.  

COMMUNICATION IS THE KEY

  1. Just don't understand why some employer still do that to the helper, it's exactly same story like what my friend send me by whatsapp last night, sad but can't do anything, just try to make her feel better i offer my mask for her 😢

  2. Really I can't understand why some employers doesn't want to follow the rules / agreement they signed before they took the helper. As my experienced with my last employer I can say that most of the time employers are unfair. They think only for their rights because for them helper are not human don't have the rights for everything. Thanks God he gave a good employer right now. I am still blessed and thankful that they terminate me dispite my contract is about to finish in few months.
